FEATURES OF THE SCHOOL

NTSE Classes

Students of classes IX / X are given extra coaching for National Talent Search Examination. Many students from our organization are selected in NTSE every year.

Value Education

Stress is being laid on Value Education to inculcate moral values & Indian heritage among the students. It is developed through reciting stories, shlokas, yoga, & celebrating the birth anniversaries of saints, scholars & great leaders.

Physical Education

It is imparted to the students by Mass P.T./drill, Yoga and providing facilities of outdoor and indoor games to encourage healthy sportsmanship character, building sound body and healthy competitive spirit among the students. Excellent sports - facilities with Volleyball, Net Ball, Throw Ball, Badminton, Basketball, Cricket, Football and field - events are promoted in KPS.

            'SPORTS DAY', a reflection of sports activities is organized by the school every year. Innumerable sports persons of International, National, State and Divisional level repute are the pride of KPS.

Music and Dance

School has separate Music and Dance rooms for the students. Special training is given in the evenings, to the students, who want to appear for the Diploma course, recognized by the Khairagarh University.

Cultural Activities

School gives lots of opportunities for self- expression and advancement of the cultural heritage. On Saturdays there are special programmes like dramatics, dance, music & fine arts. Every child gets the opportunity to participate. Every Saturday various competitions at School - level, Inter - School level & State - level are organized by the School to promote the children.

Recreational Activities

We celebrate all festivals & important days through recreational activities. Arts and crafts give a lot of creative opportunities to the students. Every child participates as per in his/her time table, in the arts and crafts work, where minimum ‘B’ grade is required to get promoted. They learn making stuffed - toys to origami, match - stick work, clay - modelling, cardboard - modelling, instrumentation etc. All these creativities of the whole year are displayed in the Annual Art & Craft Exhibition.

Social Activities

School organizes Sports Day, Teacher's Day, Annual Day, apart from many other functions. Children are involved in these functions. They also go out for tours and camping. For every activity, they work in groups. Every child is involved in one way or the other. Students - council Committee is formed every year where they learn to shoulder the responsibilities.

Vocational Activities

School offers Computer Education, Home Science, Needle Work, Origami etc., which provide opportunities for learning by doing for promotion to the next class, showing preparation of their interest and participation.

Assembly

To inculcate a high sense of National integrity and universal brotherhood, each working day in the school starts with morning - assembly, including school prayer, devotional and patriotic songs. Stress is also laid on the moral development of the students. News - reading, reciting poems with full actions, moral teachings and singing songs in chorus are the remarkable features of the Morning Assembly. National Song is sung during the prayer time from Monday to Saturday and National Anthem on Saturdays. Every week is assigned for one moral activity. Different and special days are celebrated like World Earth Day, Vanmahotsav, World Aids Day etc. Special Assemblies on special days & festival celebrations are the important features of the assembly.

Library

Computerized library with a large volume of books, periodicals and course - oriented journals are the special features which help us to shape a student into a versatile genius. It's open between 8.00 am & 4.00 pm.

E - Library - The school has started E-library facility for students. Students are issued books by password, issued to them. This helps them to read and browse the E-library books at any place & at any time with the help of computers/tablets.

Labs

Well-equipped labs of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer, Home Science & Math’s are in the school. These are made in the most modern way with a capacity of 100 students, at a time.

Weekly Tests

Weekly tests are conducted every week on Monday & Thursday for classes I - V & XI whereas for classes VI - X tests are conducted on Mondays only.

Along with weekly tests Pre-Mid-term & Post Mid-term tests also will be conducted in classes VI-X. Pre-Mid-Term test will be covering 25% of the syllabus whereas Post-Mid-term will be covering 75% of the syllabus. Pre-Mid-term will be conducted during 2nd / 3rd week of July and Post-Mid-term will be conducted in 2nd / 3rd week of January. Weight age of Pre & Post-Mid-term tests will be taken for final calculation of overall results.

It is compulsory to appear in these tests. There shall be no retest and child will be awarded zero, in case of absence.

There will be separate objective type tests for the students of class - XI & XII on Saturdays for IIT/PET/JEE/ICWA preparation.

Computer Education

Computer education is an integral part of the school - curriculum. Computer labs are well equipped with Pentium computers and Laser Printers where students are exposed to Windows and other high - level languages, Wi fi facility is also provided.

Smart Classes

In - order to make teaching & learning processes more interesting, smart classes with the use of digital boards have been introduced, for all classes from I to X.

Sports Complex

KPS started its Sports Complex to allow its students to have a safe venue for sports and school events. The school envisages that this will ensure greater participation in various indoor sports events. The sports complex of KPS is well- equipped with the ultra-modern and hi-tech amenities.

Yoga

Yoga is included in our timetable. This activity is also graded in Non-scholastic grades. Participation is mandatory.

House System

To induce leadership quality, healthy competition and team spirit, co-curricular activities are introduced on House - basis.

Clubs

Clubs like 'Ecology Club', Magazine Club, Social Service Club, Photography Club, Science Club, Math’s Club, E & I Club, Arts Club, Quiz Club, Literary Club etc. have been formed in the school. Students’ active participation in all these fields, under the guidance of teachers, helps to develop the personalities of the children, in all dimensions.

Career Counselling

Career counsellors are invited by the school from time to time for the Counselling of the students of classes X to XII, to help them in choosing the best career- option in future.

Excursion & Bimonthly Educational Visit

Children learn many things from the neighborhood community resources. This includes people, places and things, found in the community, which can facilitate learning. For this, the child should have real - life experiences. Our programme includes Excursions and bimonthly Educational visits to all the learning centers in the vicinity like Banks, Fruit- Market, Super Market, Power Stations, Vidhan Sabha, Air- Port, Factories, etc. as its learning centers.

The school's website gives information about the main features of the school like admission procedures, achievements etc. The photo gallery is a rich store - house of important and glorious moments of the school. All the major areas of the school like Admission - counter, Fee - counter, Library and Labs and students’ results are linked with it.

SMS Facility

Looking to the increased mobile usage, the school has started informing parents about the child's progress, holidays & other important details through SMS facility. Parents can also receive and respond to all the information’s through SMS.

Closed circuit cameras

Each & every area of the school is equipped with closed circuit cameras which help in close supervision of the classes & students.

Monthly Parents - Teachers’ Meetings

To keep a very good rapport between parents and teachers for the betterment of the child, on the 2nd Saturday of every month, we conduct Parents - Teachers' Meeting. Teachers meet parents of every child at least 10 times in a year for the child’s welfare / growth in performance.

25.

Transport

Students can avail the school transport, subject to availability of seats, on payment of necessary fees. The school shall not entertain any change in the bus route, to suit individual convenience. It may be discontinued in case of in disciplinary behaviour in the bus.

26.

Medical Checkup

A complete medical checkup of students is done by the visiting doctors authorized by the school. A separate health card is maintained for every student. Parents are informed of the health of the child in case any special attention is needed.

27.

Brother - Sister Concession

If more than 2 children of the same parents are studying in this institution then the last few instalments, of Tuition fees will be waived off, of the younger child. The number of instalments to be waived off, will be decided by the school management.
